What is the purpose of the traineeship?
The purpose of this traineeship is to provide you with a deep knowledge and understanding of the Asset Management sector where you will develop your skills from both ‘on the job’ and formal training.
When is the opening date for applications?
21st October 2016.
When is the closing date for applications?
13th November 2016.
When do you usually recruit Trainees during the year?
We are ideally looking for people who can start with us as soon as possible though depending on circumstances we may be flexible.
Is this a paid experience?
Yes, we aim to pay a competitive salary in London (around £20,000 per annum).
What benefits are offered?

What are you looking for in trainees?
The scheme is talent driven, which means that successful trainees are not judged on grades achieved, university attended or whether they have previous work experience. We want to meet bright and talented individuals who will be able to express what they will bring to the industry and to the firm.
I don’t have a degree, can I apply?
Yes, we are looking for people to apply who come from a wide range of backgrounds and all we ask for is the ability to communicate and a passion for providing outstanding levels of customer service.
Can I reclaim travel costs to attend the interview?
OMGI will reimburse travelling expenses for candidates who live in excess of 20 miles from central London. Further details will be provided at the interview stage. Please note this is limited to the UK only and therefore excludes travel from outside the UK.
Can I do it as part of my placement year at University?
Unfortunately, our Programme is not designed for a placement year. However we do offer a summer internship so if you wish further information you can find out more today.
How long is the trainee contract?
The trainee contract will last for 12 months. We do not offer a shorter contract for the trainee programme.
Will I get any formal qualifications?
We may ask you to sit the Claritas Investment qualification during the 12 month placement as this will provide you with a recognised, standard industry qualification.
What do I get out of this traineeship?
The aim of the apprenticeship programme is to develop you so you can make high-level contributions to Old Mutual Global Investors without completing further education. As well as providing in-house and on-the-job training, we provide our trainees with the opportunity to continue studying for industry recognised qualifications.
What happens after 12 months?
When you have completed a 12 month trainee contract, depending on our current vacancies, we may be able to offer you a permanent role. If we are unable to offer such a position, we are confident that your experience and business knowledge will improve your scope to find work elsewhere. Furthermore, you will be invited to join the OMGI Internship alumni. This will provide future networking events, keep you up to date with what’s going on at OMGI and enable you to maintain the contacts you have established during your programme.
