Old Mutual Global Investors adds to European distribution team

Eric Bateman joins as Head of Benelux and France Distribution

Old Mutual Global Investors (“OMGI”), part of Old Mutual Wealth, has today confirmed that Eric Bateman has joined the team as Head of Benelux and France Distribution.

Eric, who joined the business on Monday 4 January 2016, is based in OMGI’s Edinburgh office and reports to Allan MacLeod, Head of International Distribution. In this position, Eric is responsible for growing OMGI’s presence in Belgium, the Netherlands, Luxemburg and France, and will work with a wide range of clients including wealth managers and global financial institutions.

Eric has over 22 years’ experience in the investment management industry and joins OMGI from Kleinwort Benson Investors, where he worked as Business Development Manager, Europe since January 2013. In this role he was responsible for developing and executing the business’s European distribution strategy. Prior to this Eric worked in international distribution roles at INSYNERGY Investment Management from 2011- 2013 and Martin Currie from 2002 – 2010. He started his career in distribution at Templeton Investment Management in July 1993.

Eric’s appointment forms part of OMGI’s strategy of hiring regional specialists in order to expand its international presence and follows the hire of Simon Barrett as Head of Nordic and Middle East Distribution in October 2015 and Dominik Issler as Head of DACH Distribution in April 2015.

Allan MacLeod comments:

“Eric is a great addition to Old Mutual Global Investor’s European distribution team; he has a huge amount of experience and his appointment will allow us to evolve and grow our client base in France and the Benelux countries.

“European distribution will be a key area of growth for OMGI in 2016 and by hiring regional specialists we are better positioned to service a wide range of clients.”

Eric Bateman adds:

“I am looking forward to working with the team at Old Mutual Global Investors. The business’s distribution in Europe grew well in 2015 and I look forward to further developing our presence in Benelux and France.”
