Diamond Lee to manage the Old Mutual Greater China Equity Fund

Old Mutual Global Investors is pleased to announce that Diamond Lee has been appointed Portfolio Manager of the US$100m¹ Old Mutual Greater China Equity Fund (“The Fund”), effective 20 January 2015.   The Fund is currently sub-advised by Metisq Capital Pty Limited (“Metisq”).

Diamond joined Old Mutual Global Investors’ Asian Equities team in November 2014.  Headed by Josh Crabb, this team manages approximately US$400 million² of assets on behalf of global clients.  Currently part of Old Mutual Global Investors (UK) Limited in London, the team expects to join Old Mutual Global Investors (Asia Pacific) Limited, Hong Kong in March 2015, subject to the required regulatory approvals being received.

Josh, who was named Long Only Asian Equity Fund Manager of The Year – All Cap by The Asset in June 2014, and his team are tasked with leading Old Mutual Global Investors’ Asian equities product and strategies.  The team will assist the business in expanding its Asian footprint under the direction of Carol Wong, who joined the company in November 2013 as Managing Director, Head of Distribution, Asia. Josh will also be involved in assisting Old Mutual Global Investors to achieve its goal of expanding into selected international markets.

Diamond Lee biographical details:

Diamond has over 20 years’ experience in the industry and has an excellent performance track record. Most recently Diamond worked at Ignis Asset Management for 18 years as an Asian Equities Portfolio Manager. At Ignis Diamond was responsible for stock selection in China across all Asia Pacific and Emerging Markets portfolios and managed the top performing Ignis Pacific Growth Fund and Ignis China Fund.

Diamond started his investments career at Scottish Amicable Investment Managers in July 1994 as an Investment Analyst, before moving into fund management in December 1994. Prior to that he worked at KPMG as an Assistant Manager, where he trained as a Chartered Accountant. He is fluent in both Cantonese and English.
